About Joseph A. Campolo

Joseph A. Campolo is a clinical researcher and medical student at The New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Joseph received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Manhattan University where he graduated at the top of his class, attaining a cumulative GPA of 4.0 He is a distinguished member of Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Xi and the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Joseph conducted research in epigenetics in the Wilkins Lab at Manhattan University. His abstract titled “Hho1 as a post translational modification regulator: Identifying protein-protein interactions between histone H3 and the Saccromyces cerevisae linker histone, Hho1 “ was published in The Journal of Biological and Chemical Sciences.

Joseph is a featured author in PubMed where his literature review titled “Can ChatGPT be used as a research assistant and a patient consultant in plastic surgery? A review of 3 key information domains” was published in ePlasty. This research was conducted with the division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Joseph’s current research interests include identifying the effects of certain diet and exercise habits on patient physiology and wellbeing.
